It's spring break this week and I took the boys on a little field trip to the Cumming Historic Cemetery. I've passed by this place at least a thousand times and always thought one day I'll stop. Well today was the day. It was an interesting place to say the least. The graves go back to 1834. It was interesting to see the different families out there. One family looked to have lost like three grown sisters all within just a few years. They were all in early 30s in 1850's. And there were a lot of infant graves from the mid to late 1800's. Then there were several graves that didn't have anything but a cross marker. Don't know if they were soldiers from the civil war or not. There were a lot of confederate flags placed at graves. Ralph just said maybe the unmarked graves were from slaves. I think Friday we might get to go to a rock quarry and take a tour. Ha! And just think what all the kids who went to the beach are missing!
